Recognition of prior learning

As part of the Australian Qualifications Training Framework (AQTF), industrylink recognizes existing skills the trainee/apprentice may have, allowing them to fast track through their chosen course.

Recognition of Prior Skills allows each registered trainee/apprentice to apply for an assessment that will encompass the skills they have gained in their chosen field over the years of employment through experience and knowledge this provides and opportunity for the student to reduce the term of their training. Each student is given the opportunity to apply for the recognition process in the induction workshop.

The process involves detailed discussion with the student, evidence provided such as a resume, a brief history on their skills and industry experience, references, third party reports and any other documentation that can be provided that will assist in the fast tracking of formalizing skills and receiving formal qualifications.

An assessment process is conducted between the student and the Trainer/Assessor, where the student is required to perform a series of tasks whilst being observed and answer relevant questions directly related to the tasks preformed.
